I use this book (and the How to use Windows 95 book by the same author) for my Introduction to Windows class which I've been teaching at a local community college for 2 years...it is clear, easy to follow, and definitely one of best book for learning Windows.

Doug Morrison's book is an awesome effort to present an extremely broad truly holistic modality for healing. It is extremely well articulated and well organized. As a reference book, it is unsurpassed and one to which I will refer often. It is reader friendly, including both highly technical and anecdotal information. I have personal experience in seminars both with Doug and his late mentor, Dr. John Whitman Ray, and this book is a beautiful expression of their teachings which up to now have not been available in print. Their combination of nutrition, physical/emotional/spiritual disciplines, and the very unique Body Electronics is a contribution to the literature (and life!) that goes way beyond, both in breadth and depth, anything I have encountered in more than 30 years of "alternative" searching. What an accomplishment! Thank you, Doug!

There are two classics works on the subject, one by C. W. Leadbetter and this one by Douglas Baker. The aura is an energy field which surrounds all living things. A person's mental, emotional and spiritual states are reflected in the color, size and shape of their aura. Some people can actually see auras, certainly Baker is one who can see the aura. This book is a must read for anyone interested in understanding their real Self.

This is one of the finest books that I have ever had the great pleasure to read and enjoy. It is the story of Alexander von Humbolt (1769-1859)who was a famous scientist and one of the greatest men in history. One of the last truly universal men, Humbolt was personally acquainted with Goethe, Jefferson, Napolean, Josephine, Cuvier, Laplace, Frederick the Great, Pitt, Schiller, Bismark, Simon Bolivar, and so many others. But his personal acquaintenances are only part of the story. This was a fascinating and unique man who lived in a richly historical time, which this book sheds much light upon.

Humbolt was born in Prussia but spent much of his adult life in his beloved Paris. He traveled through parts of South America, Mexico, North America, Europe and part of Asia, making contributions to man's knowledge of science all along the way and becoming world famous in the process. Humbolt was a man of towering intellect, strong determination to succeed, and boundless energy. He laid the foundations for such fields as modern physical geography. Several terms he coined (such as "Jurassic") are still in use today and he wrote many thousands of pages in his books, including Cosmos, a monumental effort to describe a unified vision of the universe. As scientist and explorer, Humbolt left his name on the maps of 5 continents. There is even a moon crater named after him. He held the world high-altitude climbing record for 30 years.

Humbolt was also a kind, gentle man with liberal democratic views, a fondness for the principles of the 1789 revolution, a belief in the equality of all races, and a strong distaste for slavery. As a diplomat in troubled times, he worked for the benefit of both the strong and the weak. He was a dedicated patron and supporter of struggling young scientists and helped many, such as Louis Agassiz to survive in their early years even when he himself struggled to make ends meet. Humbolt was a man far ahead of his time in many ways and was justifyably admired by thousands all over the world.

Botting's treatment of his subject is respectful, at times reverential, and always interesting. The author also explores the contributions and lives of Humbolt's companions such as Aime Bonpland, and his brother Wilhelm von Humbolt.

The book is lavishly illustrated with a vast number of both color and black and white plates. It is hard to find but well worth the effort!

The Hunter Douglas Guide to Window Decorating would be a good reference guide if it were written by an unknown. The fact that the largest manufacturer of Window Blinds and coverings, Hunter Douglas, has embarked on an impressive and easily comprehensible How-To is remarkable. There are no bells and whistles, just honest and easy to understand examples in both written word and pictures. The case studies are relevant and feasible: a concern many other books simply do not acknowledge. In my opinion, being a designer myself, it is a refreshing reference to have in any design conscious household or office.

This story is about an Alien conquered earth in which one man searches for his family the aliens kidnapped. This is such an underated novel, it deserves more publicity for being a great book. It has an exciting plot, well developed characters, swift, and a definite page turner. Too bad it's out of print. . .

This book, first published in 1940 - long after Douglas' death - is based on Douglas' war-time journal and personal papers. Douglas began to assemble them into book form several times, but never had them published; his relatives did......What emerges are wonderful portraits of Douglas, Jackson (for whom Douglas was a staff officer) and many other well-known (and not so well-known) soldiers and civilians caught in the Civil War. Douglas is decidedly pro-Jackson, but Douglas also shows us the real Jackson: a man who could be cruel to the extreme and then gentle and kind a few moments later. The book is fill with humorous anecdotes, which make it a "fun read" - I could not put it down. Yet there is an underlying sadness in the book, as one watches Douglas' many friends being killed off, sees the homes of his family and civilian friends burned or otherwise destroyed. Douglas never explicitly states it, but the reader can feel the anguish that Douglas - and many others - experienced....... One thing Douglas did not do was go into great detail about each battle. He reasoned that later historians, with a better overall view of things, would do a much better job. What he does do is "put you there" - whether in battle, in camp, or on some small adventure. This is one fantastic book! Along with the memoirs of Gen. E.P. Alexander, these memoirs are about the best I have ever read. Simply a great book!

I found this book right after my husband of 20 years died and I was really going through a bad time. I love poetry. I like the title so I bought it. That was 11 years ago, I have since ordered copies for friends who are also going through difficult times. If you need help getting the proper view of life and learning to cope with problesm and make it one day at a time, You can say as the title suggests "I'm On The Way to a Brighter Day" and really mean it after reading this wonderful book. I wrote the publisher of this book those many years ago I was so impressed with this book. The book really helped me and it still gives me a lift every time I read it. My copy is well worn, but alway there to keep me heading in the right direction. Ahead to A Brighter Future. You won't regret buying this book it is a real treasure.

I could not put this book down ,Icewater Mansions capture and held my attention till the very end!!! Then I was sorry I had reached the end.... The next book in this "Mitch" Mitchell series is called Black water.... I can't wait to begin it

This book contains BEAUTIFUL line-art illustrations of a host of Douglas, McDonnell and McDonnell-Douglas aircraft, past and present. The artwork was done by Mike Badrocke who is a recognized master at this craft. Bill Gunston is also a master aviation writer. Together they've produced a very beautiful book for the aviation enthusiast. You'll see cutaways of the "DC series" commercial aircraft (e.g., DC-3, DC-9, etc.), McDonnell fighters (e.g., F-101, F-4 and others) as well as earlier aircraft from both manufacturers. The book also shows us the latest McDonnell-Douglas aircraft after the merger (e.g., F-15, F-18, C-17 and DC-10). As with other Badrocke illustrations, there are labels/callouts to various parts of the plane which help guide you through its inner workings. Gunston provides an historical view of many McDonnell-Douglas aircraft which are not illustrated. Those not illustrated are usually the older, more esoteric aircraft with limited historical visibility. Overall, it's a wonderful book to help you "explore" the insides of these aircraft, and nobody does that better than Badrocke.
